This three-hour inspection report writing course is designed to reinforce how to report within the Standards of Practice, and the proper recommendations an inspector should or should not make when determining if a professional evaluation is needed. Inspectors just starting out, as well as seasoned inspectors, will learn how to effectively write a report to reduce their liability and provide the client with valuable information. Students will leave with a stronger ability to generate an effective and defensible inspection report.

Louisiana State Requirement Details for Appraiser Continuing Education

Renewal Date: 24 months, 12/31

Hours Required by the State for renewals on or after January 1, 2026:  28 Hours

  • 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course
  • 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course or 4-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course (see explanation below) 
  • 14 hours of approved continuing education or 17 hours of approved continuing education (see explanation below)

Beginning January 1, 2026, a Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Continuing Education. The first time a Licensee completes the Continuing Education requirement for this course, the course length must be 7 hours. If a Licensee successfully completed an 8-hour course as part of their Qualifying Education, they have satisfied this requirement. Every 2 calendar years thereafter, the course length must be at least 4 hours. This new course requirement is included in the 28 total hours for a 2-year renewal.

  • 14 approved continuing education hours

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report course completions.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally 6 months after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. 

Certificates: Immediately upon appraisal course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
