Oregon Pre-Licensing Enrollment and Orientation

This program provides the 150 hours of instruction required to be eligible for an Oregon Real Estate Broker license. The program prepares learners for the Oregon state licensing exam and provides the practical business knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate broker in Oregon.  

This course contains the orientation that is required prior to beginning the first for-credit course.  

Oregon 30-Hour Real Estate Law

This course offers 30 hours of foundational real estate topics directly applicable to students obtaining their real estate license in Oregon. Covered topics include broker responsibilities and supervision; laws affecting real estate; property ownership and land use; agency; property disclosures; and contracts.

Course highlights include:

  • An overview of broker supervision, ethics, and antitrust
  • A look at key areas of concern in real estate including fair housing, advertising, technology, and trust accounts
  • A dive into how property is owned, possessed, or encumbered including public and private land use controls and restrictions
  • A summary of agency including types, duties, creation (agreements), and termination
  • An overview of property-related disclosures
  • A look at basic contract law, essential elements of real estate contracts, and those that are commonly used in real estate 

Oregon 30-Hour Real Estate Practice

This course offers 30 hours of topics related to the practice of real estate and directly applicable to students obtaining their real estate license in Oregon. Covered topics include appraisals; financing; math; transferring title; license law and disciplinary measures; handling and recordkeeping of documents and clients’ funds; Oregon agency law and rules; regulation of brokerage activities; and Oregon real estate-related statutes.

Course highlights include:

  • An overview of how appraisers estimate value
  • A look at basic financing principles including security instruments, types of mortgages, and loan types
  • A review of real estate math including practice performing calculations

Oregon 15-Hour Contracts

This course offers 15 hours of contracts topics directly applicable to students obtaining their real estate license in Oregon. Covered topics include essential elements of contracts; contingencies, disclosures, addendum, and amendments; transaction-related contracts, and property handling of documents.

  • A review of essential elements of contracts, property handling and recordkeeping, and the licensee’s role

State Requirements For Oregon

Oregon State Requirement Details for Real Estate Pre-Licensing Education

Hours Required by the State: 150 hours

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

The CE Shop’s Offering: 150 hours

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to PSI. We will report your course to PSI upon completion.

Expiration Date of Course: The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing courses expire one year after the date of purchase. The CE Shop will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary.

Seat Time: It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.
